Microphone test
Make sure you sound right. Check your levels, record, and listen back.
LIVE TEST WORKSPACEBROWSER-REPORTED · LOCAL ONLY
A little sound check.
Audio is processed locally. Nothing is uploaded, and your microphone is never played live.
INPUT LEVEL—dBFS
PEAK—dBFS
SAMPLE RATE—Hz
Permission is not a test result.
Inspect the waveform and play a recording to judge clarity. Processing such as noise suppression can change the signal. dBFS is a digital level, not physical sound pressure. Audio stops when the page is hidden.
How to use this test
- Allow microphone access when you are ready.
- Speak normally and check the input waveform.
- Record a short clip, play it back, and confirm clarity.
Can I use this to measure room noise in decibels?
The level is digital dBFS, not calibrated sound pressure. Microphone gain, automatic processing, and noise suppression change the signal.
Where is my test data stored?
The test runs on your device. Results are only saved to this browser when you choose Save. Clear them from the report page at any time. Audio and video are never uploaded.
